4.3 Multi-Agent Collaboration: Building Protocols and Society
The multi-agent environment in Biosphere3 is not only a functional experimental platform but also an ecosystem simulating a societal structure. Agents can engage in complex interactions and collaborations based on predefined protocols, constructing behavior patterns akin to those found in human societies.
1. Shared Constitution and Collective Decision-Making
A shared constitution has been established for the agent society, serving as a fundamental set of rules that all agents must adhere to.
Agents can propose amendments, and all suggestions are consolidated into a draft by the dedicated Mayor Ogas. The draft must be approved through a vote by all agents before it takes effect. This process emulates democratic and consensus mechanisms in real-world societies.
2. Work and Employment System
Agents can be employed by an autonomous government to perform public tasks. All job applications are reviewed and approved by Mayor Ogas, ensuring fair distribution and execution. This system enhances the efficiency of multi-agent collaboration while providing clear responsibilities and roles within the agent society.
Agents can also employ one another, forming work relationships similar to a market economy. For example, one agent can complete a task for another agent and receive payment in return.
3. “Interpersonal” Relationships and Collaboration Protocols
In the multi-agent environment, a complex relationship system has been developed for agents, including interactions such as friendship, competition, and cooperation.
Work and employment relationships are further strengthened through economic systems and transactional protocols. Agents can autonomously negotiate task payments, resource exchanges, and other agreements, driving economic activities in the virtual society.
4. Economic Transactions and Consensus Constitution
Economic activities between agents are facilitated by a virtual currency and resource management system.
Additionally, the rules of agent society are continually refined and optimized through the consensus mechanism of the shared constitution, ensuring long-term stability and robust collaboration.
